“DeepSkyTraveler is an online force of nature. Consisting of three musicians who have never played together in person, the band has been creating music over the internet for over four years. The band features the vocal and lyrical energy of Mark Moffre ( known in Second Life as Bowie Bravin), the mind-bending lead and bass guitar of FacelessAPe (known as FacelessApe Mefusela in Second Life) and the songwriting alchemy of the guitar player known as the Blackwater Project (named DeepSky Timeless in Second Life). What seemed like a mere novelty made possible by the internet was a chance for three artists to make music beyond anyone’s expectations.
Collectively disregarding the notion of an artist bound by limits of time and space, the members of DeepSkyTraveler decided that simply posting songs on the internet wasn’t good enough. The music spoke to its listeners and demanded something much more interactive. The natural progression was to take the project into Second Life. Where else could three musicians separated by thousands of miles come together at once to perform for a global audience? The band performed at Second Life’s enormous concert event, SecondStock, and has since been part of numerous concert events throughout the online community.
Second Life provided DeepSkyTraveler with the chance to perform with an audience that is not only interactive, but is overwhelmingly supportive.
